Skellified - *Skelly*
2000 Red Dun AQHA Gelding
Im So Justified x Rhinestone Sue
Skelly is a grandson of Diversified, great grandson of Two Eyed Jack, Zan Parr Bar, and Fancy Roan Bar. He has Blondy's Dude and Te N Te the next generation off his papers. He is a very well bred colt with hopefully a great future here. He has been shown at numerous AQHA and Futurity shows since he was 4 mths old. He won 2000 AQHA weanling colt unanimously, at the 2000 Minnesota State Fair. He went on to win several longe-line futurities as a yearling in 2001. He won Reserve Champion Open Longe-line at the MQHA Futurity, defeating 22 quality, top Quarter horse yearlings in the country. So he has looks and he is also a very good mover. Currently ~15.3 hands, and still alot of growing to do!
Skelly at his first IBHA show with us did very well. He won all this Two Year Old Stallion classes - and came home with 1 IBHA Halter point in Amatuer Stallions!!
Skelly has been sent off to "school" this winter. He is being trained for Western riding events by Dale Bonnin. Dale loves Skelly and thinks he is going to do great in the show ring under saddle in 2004. We were concerned about Skelly being sound after his injuries last year, but those fears have been laid to rest as he is doing super under saddle and Skelly is enjoying being rode!!
Skelly was shown at 6 AQHA shows in 2004 in Amatuer Stallions and he won 3 times out, plus he stood Grand Champion twice and Reserve Champion twice!!! Skelly is now both an AQHA and IBHA point earner!!! Skelly is also the 2004 WQHA Reserve Champion Amateur Aged Stallion!!
Skelly is proving that he is a very good sire too. He has a limited number of foals on the ground, but the couple that have hit the show pen are doing fantastic! Mister Skellified was the 2005 Wisconsin State Horse Council Equine Foundation Futurity Reserve Champion. And Justice Is Dun is continueing to win for his owner. He is the 2006 Creekview Circuit Champion 2 year old Longe Line Horse and he was 5th overall at the IBHA World!!! Plus he also placed fairly well in the halter classes in 2006 at Creekview! Just proving that Skelly can and does sire horses with looks and great movement!
Here are a couple of pictures of Skelly taken at Horse-A-Rama April 3, 2004. We think that he is maturing very well.
